“I went down in the afternoon,
To the sea,
Which held me, until I grew easy.”- Mary Oliver
A gathering of sea souls
AN EXPLORATION INTO THE CALL OF THE sea AND THE DEPTH OF OUR CONNECTION to IT, inspired by ‘she of the sea’ by lucy h pearce.
Join me and fellow coach Zoe Butler for a monthly gathering of sea souls as we meet on the beach at Branksome Chine in Poole.
Our dream is to co-create a community of sea souls and sisters where we can hold each other and be held as we explore why the sea holds such meaning for us, how water connects us all and how we can reconnect with ourselves. A space where we can come as we are and leave as one.
Who’s it for?
Our circle is open to sea lovers of all ages who identify as women, including trans and non-binary people.
Perhaps you feel a deep call of the sea?
Is the sea part of your life story?
Does the sea inspire your creativity?
Do you feel happiest when you are surrounded by water or curious to understand how the sea can increase your sense of happiness and wellbeing?
Are you seeking a coming home to yourself?
We invite you to bring your stories and your questions to a safe space beside the water.
What to expect?
A non-judgemental space where can share with and learn from others, and grow your connection to the sea and yourself.
Meaningful discussions with like-minded, supportive people
A space for personal inquiry, learning, healing and spirituality
Creative, reflective and embodied practices
Optional sea dips

Zoe and I met through our wellbeing work with young people last year. I shared my favourite book with her, ‘She of the Sea’ by Lucy H Pearce, a book I’d recently discovered and felt like it had been written just for me. I had this urge to share the book with everyone, but at the same time wanted to keep it as my own sacred secret. But I’m glad I made the recommendation because I got this message from her:
For both of us, the sea has played a major role in our lives and careers, supporting our healing journeys, life transitions, and, of course, it’s where we go to play! We agreed that we both wanted to make space to explore the reflection questions in the book, and thought we probably weren’t the only ones. So here we are, hoping to connect with as many sea souls as possible to join us on an immersive journey into the sea.
We can’t wait to see what emerges.
The sea that calls all things unto her calls me, and I must embark.
